Happy Sunday Morning! I wanted to share with you my Valentine’s card I made for my hubby who is taking me to Paris for our upcoming 40th Wedding Anniversary – Woo Hoo! I can take that off my bucket list. AND Stampin’ Up! always seems to have the perfect stamp set to celebrate so many occasions – including “Follow My Heart” which includes the Eiffel Tower and so here is what I came up with – a swing-out card – so cute!
This card consists of two pieces – your larger base card, and a smaller piece that swings out like a hinge. So quick and easy to do. Here is a side view so you can see the hinged part:
That little piece then swings over to the front so you can fit it in an envelope to mail. Here is what it looks like closed:
Here is what it looks like looking down at it so you can see how the little section sticks out:
Here are the instructions:
Cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock for your base.
Cut your coordinating DSP or card stock 4” x 5-14”.
Cut a 3″ x 6-1/2″ piece of card stock for your swing or hinged piece and score it at 3″, 4-1/2″ and 6″. Fold at the creases mountain and valley. Apply adhesive to the middle section and fold together at the crease line.
Cut a 2-3/4″ square piece of coordinating DSP or cardstock to apply to the front swing-out section.
Place adhesive on the small 1/2″ section which then will be attached to the back of your coordinating DSP which now can be adhered to the front of the base.
You now you have your swing-out arm to either stamp or apply coordinating DSP to.
Let me know if you would like a more detailed tutorial and I can certainly create one for you! This is a different kind of card that is quick and easy to do with a lot of wow factor to it.
I hope you have a fabulous week!
