I thought I would share some graduation cards I created using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet Die – I am so excited this made it into the big catalog! The first one I did was sort of a generic one that would be good for anyone:
I made these little baby owls using our Build an Owl punch and cutting down the owl using a small circle die from our circle thinlet dies like this. The trick though, is when putting through the Big Shot, to not crank it all the way through but to only go to part way so it will cut the owl feet and lower portion off but not give you a ridge on the head (or you could cut around the circle with a pair of scissors too):
I then sponged some Daffodil Delight and then some Tangelo Twist on the bottom of my owl and sponged some black around the edges to make it stand out.
I used our What’s Up punch smaller arrow to punch out just the tip of the arrow to create the little noses. The hat is from the retired “Pomp & Circumstance” graduation set that was a perfect fit for the owl head, but you could just cut an oblong rectangle to create a graduation hat too.
Here is the inside card using the stamp set B.Y.O.P:
However, I have two special graduations that I wanted to make VERY special, so I looked up the school colors for them. This one is for my niece who graduated from the University of Florida – school colors blue and orange:
We bought her a Pandora Graduation Owl for her bracelet and I used our Tag-A-Bag gift box with the plastic sleeve and actually used part of her graduation announcement to come up with this decorated box filled with her charm and some chocolates from Jared (of course!):
The next card was for my younger sister’s granddaughter who graduated and her school colors are red and white:
I hope both girls like their graduation cards. I love how with all the colors SU has, we can always find the perfect colors to create one-of-a-kind cards and gifts.
I hope this will give you some ideas on how to customize your graduation cards.
